Further Details
for the
Upcoming
Chalet.

For those joining us from the start, meet on Wednesday at Pasir Ris MRT at 2pm. If you pop by later, just head straight to the chalet or drop me a call (rem it's SBS service 358).
For those coming only for the BBQ, just head to Aloha Loyang (Garden Bungalow 5) by 7pm on Thursday with $5. Map.
Address: 159W Jalan Loyang Besar, Singapore 507020

Also, for those gifted with vehicles, details from the webbie:

If you're coming from the north...
take SLE/TPE, exit to Pasir Ris Drive 12 which turns right into Pasir Ris Drive 3. Go along Pasir Ris Drive 3 until you pass Aranda Country Club on your left. At the immediate junction, turn left into Pasir Ris Close.Go along this road and turn into Jalan Loyang Besar. Take this small lane until you see the road sign directing you to aloha loyang (a left-turn, after which you should take the road winding right). On your left, you would pass by Costa Sands and a public carpark. Go straight ahead and you'll arrive at aloha loyang.

If you're coming from the west...
take TPE/SLE, exit to Loyang Avenue (towards Pasir Ris Town). Travel along Loyang Avenue and turn left into Pasir Ris Drive 3. You'll come to a cross-junction where you'll see NTUC Downtown East. Turn right into Pasir Ris Close. Go along this road and turn into Jalan Loyang Besar. Take this small lane until you see the road sign directing you to aloha loyang (a left-turn, after which you should take the road winding right). On your left, you would pass by Costa Sands and a public carpark. Go straight ahead and you'll arrive at aloha loyang.

Apparently you can't come from the South or East so tough luck.

Also, on a random note, we will be buying a communal bottle of shampoo and soap so you don't have to bring your own unless you dislike Sunsilk (purple) or sharing.

Any further enquiries can be directed to Mark (91714858). Also, please remember to bring money to pay up if you haven't already. Cheers.

Don't even know if anyone will read this in time but:

finalists from Fast+Fresh (that's the competition Andre was in-see previous post) are gonna be performing at "the hallelujah slam", which is the Singapore Poetry Slam's 5th anniversary celebration at zouk this Tuesday 27/5, 7.30-10pm. Tickets: $10, buy 1 bring a friend for free (housepours 1+1 till 10pm, if that matters).

I'll update on which plays will be there (vj's isn't coz 'god' can't make it) and whether it's worth going. It should be. Anyway, poetry slam's pretty cool. And there's live music! No plays can make it. Boo.

And if you read this in time and want to go, let's! (?)

-love, youknowwho.

pointlessly a-musing!

This sounds really cool. And since they're basing future considerations of holding it on this scale in Singapore on this year's turn out, why not give them reasons to keep it going?

The question is, spend on this, or Vista?

Look, they've changed the thing:

I wonder how they're gonna justify the malaria-myanmar change. I mean, both start with "m" but I'm not sure Myanmar would take kindly to being related to malaria. In any case, "malaria"s spelling's closer to *cough*another asian country.

LET'S GO-yes?

Lit Rocks

"I look at people like Andre...he's the poster boy for contraception. Or abstinence!" -Ms C.

(if you read it closer, you'll find that there are 2 ways of interpreting it, and they're both funnay like anything)

"Can you look this up on the iPod?" - Harris is distressed about not being able to remember who 'Danse Macabre' is by.

Chalet Details

Here are the details for our annual 07A13 Class Chalet, 2008:

Location: Aloha Loyang (Pasir Ris, same vicinity as last year's)
Dates: 28-29 May

Due to excess demand, was unable to book one chalet consecutively for two nights. So I booked two separate chalets for two nights, and just shift in the second morning. Good news is the second night will be in a bungalow ie freaking big. BBQ night will be decided on projected attendance, check back later.

How to get there:
If you went for last year's chalet, it's in the same vicinity, just further in. Don't worry, it's also much bigger. Free shuttle bus from Pasir Ris MRT [schedule]. Alternatively, take bus 358 from Pasir Ris MRT and drop at Downtown East, then walk in [map].
I got Garden Terrace B for the first night and Garden Bungalow 5 for the second.

Details according to webbie:
GARDEN TERRACE
Single storey unit, with sheltered pavilion around the BBQ ares, fully furbished with living room set with TV & games table; dining area;2 air-conditioned bedrooms with 6 single beds (2 single beds and 2 double-deck beds), wardrobe, dresser, bedside table & wall fan; 2 toilets / bath with shower heater; BBQ pit and a fully equipped kitchen.
GARDEN BUNGALOW
Single-storey bungalow, surrounded by open field, fully furbished with living room set with TV and games table; dining room; 4 air-conditioned bedrooms furbished with beds (2 queen-sized and 4 single-sized), wardrobe, dresser, bedside table and wall fan; 5 toilets/bath (4 attached) with shower heater; BBQ pit and a fully equipped kitchen.

Facilities: "a giant fun pool with jacuzzis, children’s playroom (whee), arcade room, a multi-purpose court and aloha café by the pool."
